Wireless controller + spatial image and sound
The 3D controller is an interface that has been fully developed by the Transorganic Exchanges research team and is in the process of being used in test groups to define the viability of its use as a resource in the clinical field.
The concept of our application stems from a program used in research conducted at Ohio State University. From this program we started to develop a complete device that involves the development of both a specific software and hardware, so far the controller has been developed using hardware and free software. We are focusing design and programming on the needs of patients and therapists.
We are currently in the search for neuro-rehabilitation institutions that are willing and interested in doing feasibility tests of using the device.
The use in health institutions will be oriented to be applied in the following situations and conditions:
- Neuropathologies with motor sequelae. To generate feedback and measurement in real time and to observe the motivational response of the patient.
- Evaluation of the relationship between functional development and development of the being.
- Evaluate compliance with clinical objectives – feasibility and testing.
Based on the tests performed, we want to answer the following questions:
- What were the characteristics of the patients who could tolerate the use of the application in the movement therapy sessions (eg diagnosis, gender, age, level of deficit, etc.)?
- With what rehabilitation exercises did the therapists use the device?
- What results reported on the productions of certain patients were observed as keys to the continuity of the development of therapy based on movement, interactivity and creativity?
At the moment we are also in the search of advice for the continuity of the development of this device and generating exchanges with professionals of different areas that can be referring in the key challenges of this process.
A compact version of the eterodyne wave instrument.
The Eterophone is a musical instrument that is executed without physical contact with the same one. It is the first instrument of this type and was created at the beginning of the XX century.
In the frame of the MUNTreF we developed a simplified version of the device, with which the frequency can be controlled. This device is used to generate experiences of sound creation that do not require any previous knowledge or ability, where the body comes to the fore.
Space Challenge, an electronic puzzle adaptable to different ages.
The device is logic and operations game, dubbed “Space Challenge”. It was created by students of the University of Tres de Febrero, of the Degree in Electronic Arts. Using basic principles of electronics, we proposed three problems of increasing difficulty. To solve them, a specific combination of switches is required. The way each level is solved and the global difficulty can be adapted to different scenarios. For this we use interchangeable thematic sheets, being able to cover different groups of interest and interest. The device was intended for the area of cognitive stimulation. There, professionals could use it to update work tools and increase the motivation of their patients. This game allows to work different objectives of the area of integral form and allows putting together strategies to be solved of gradual form. By using the game of ingenuity we can see how different resolution strategies emerge. How they are mediated by the group interaction and what answers appear in front of a challenge that is considered as playful but that implies to use tools acquired in the formal education. Another relevant aspect to evaluate is the body and gestural interaction of the users in front of the device.
